With the introduction of the landmass of Far Anórien inevitably come explorer deeds. And if you ask me, these are some of the easiest explorer deeds out there. Warbands and beacons are marked on the maps already, and the cairn stones in the Entwash roughly form a straight line; if you find one, you’ll easily find the rest. In addition, this update also marks the return of the much maligned and much beloved treasure caches.
It has come to my attention while running a Beorning through Gondor that I have neglected to create a handy-dandy map for treasure caches in Western Gondor. This deed arrived before I revived the Department of Strategery but nevertheless I felt it necessary to keep the collection of treasure cache maps on this site complete and up to date. In addition to 10 Turbine points, for completing the deed you will receive 60 marks, +1 Determination virtue, 18 Amroth Silver Pieces, +900 reputation with the Dol Amroth faction and a title, Treasure Hunter of West Gondor.
Following the trend of retroactively adding level 100 content to aging regions, treasure caches and roving threats will invade Evendim, the North Downs and Southern Mirkwood beginning with update 16.2. Here are the locations of the treasure caches for those regions so if you’d like find them on your own, look away now. Keep in mind that I harvested this information from the Bullroarer test server so there is a chance that the developers have altered the locations before shipping off to live.
There are more treasure caches to find in Eastern Gondor which means you can spend a great deal of time scanning the landscape from Lebennin to Osgiliath or just take a look at this map. Your choice. Whichever you choose, in addition to the deed rewards (e.g., Turbine Points, +1 Patience), you get to keep anything you find in the caches which could be anything from crafting materials to perk tomes like a Tome of Burst of Experience. You can find more maps in Department of Strategery’s Eastern Gondor section.
Finally! This last of three treasure cache deeds in Update 15.2 has been bugged since it was released but now it is fixed. These twelve treasure caches are scattered throughout the icy region of Forochel, and unlike Angmar and the Misty Mountains, all of these caches are fairly easy to reach. Rewards for finding them all include 10 Turbine Points, 60 Marks, 5 Gift-giver’s Brands, +1 Patience virtue, +900 reputation with the Lossoth and a title, ‘Treasure Seeker of Forochel’.
If you thought it was impossible to reach Anglanthir, like they did on the wiki, well, you thought wrong. Through a series of carefully timed jumps and maneuvers, one can manage to hurdle the filthy, icky green instant death water to reach the waterfall pouring the toxic waste from Urugarth into Imlad Balchorth in Angmar. If you’d rather not figure it out on your own, this video will show you how. One quick note, though: if you’re adept enough and don’t suffer from crippling war-steed lag, all of these jumps can and should be performed on a war-steed but this video shows that it is, indeed, possible on a normal steed.
