Another update, more roving threats added to older regions. This time, it’s Evendim, North Downs and Southern Mirkwood. If you have no idea what roving threats are, they are super-powerful level 100 mobs found in different locations each day. Use the maps below to begin your hunt and be sure to check out RTPlugin by Mathwold, a plugin that will allow you to keep track and share roving threat locations in-game. In addition to the new threats, barter costs were reduced making it easier to obtain a first-age level 100 legendary item and roving threat barterers now have item XP runes and Anfalas Scrolls of Empowerment for enhancing your legendary items.
Continuing the trend with the latest updates, Eastern Gondor has its own roving threats, three of them, all in South Ithilien: Kethat-sai, a mumak; Morgrish, a half-troll; and Shardrágh, a troll. Like before, these mobs spawn in one location for the entire day and reset at 3:00 A.M. /servertime. Below is a map of the possible locations that they spawn, but make sure to obtain the quests from Bâr Húrin before venturing forth to earn those Gift-giver Brands.
Remember those roving threats spotted in Angmar after Update 15.1? It looks like they’re now ready for primetime, will be the focus of Update 15.2, and not limited to Angmar. Be on the lookout for these super-charged baddies in Forochel, Misty Mountains and Western Gondor as well. But as the name implies, these enemies don’t always stay in the same place, and this post aims to help ease the process of searching for them.
Remember exploring in the desolate Lone-lands and suddenly coming across a rare elite or questing in Chetwood and stumbling upon Baugarch the Undefeated title ender. Rare mobs are making their way back into the game with Central Gondor both in the new epic battle and on the land at the mouth of the Anduin. The loot and the intent, however, are not the same. Previously you would hunt down these rare creatures for a crafting ingredient used to make powerful armour and jewellery, but now these rare mobs are targets of new “Roving Threat” quests gated by reputation in the lands of Ringló Vale, Dor-en-Ernil and Lebennin. The quests themselves offer little clue as to the whereabouts of these threats as they are somewhat random. So instead, I’ve listed here some possible spawn locations to check when you find yourself (and hopefully your companions) hunting down these beasts for the good of the people of Gondor.
